- After a recent AP report regarding trace amounts of drugs found in drinking at 24 metropolitan cities nationwide, the Douglasville-Douglas County WSA has sent samples of treated water to be tested as a precaution. However weeks before the story broke, the DDCWSA had already tested raw (untreated) water and found minute trace amounts of transtestosterone, fluoxetine (Prozac) and cotinine. There should be no fear of the contaminants since the DDCWSA is widely known across the country for having award-winning water treatment plants. (story)
- Plans to turn Villa Rica’s Main Street into a one-way westbound street has been put on hold after Rex Camp, a local business owner, claiming more traffic congestion at the intersection of Highway 78. The City Council is now reviewing their plans to see if other alternatives are available. The street would have been converted a week earlier if it wasn’t for heavy rainstorms. (story)
