Community Meeting on Concert Noise

Published October 27th, 2007

The Douglas County Sentinel (requires registration) is reporting today that District 3 Commissioner Mike Mulcare will be hosting a “community meeting” concerning those citizens who were impacted by the noise levels produced by the Echo Project Art and Music Festival a few weeks ago in South Fulton. The meeting is at the Church of Chapel Hill, 7 p.m.

Last night I was so distressed. I could hear every cheer and every drum at Chapel Hill High School during the football game and it went on till real late. When are they going to stop this?

Rediculous isn’t it? That Echo Project is once a year thing and probably won’t last many years. Whats next, complaining about the planes flying overhead?

What Mr. Mulcare is going to have a community meeting where he can act concerned and than do nothing again? He talks a good game but when a citizen calls or emails him he refuses to answer the repeated emails or return phone calls.

According to state regulations all GHSA games are to be completed by 10PM unless there is something special like homecoming than it can be extended I believe 30 minutes. You can complain to the BOE but there is nobody there to talk to and they won’t return your calls neither. I wondered why they need to keep the lights on until 3AM I also wonder why schools need to keep outdoor lighting on 24/7. Do we have so much money to spend we need to waste it?
